Dory Hollander, PhD



 

Dr. Dory Hollander, a seasoned senior management consultant, supports her clients as an executive coach and workplace and career advisor. She works with organizational leadership and individuals to define and shape wise choices and workplaces to help clients achieve enduring success and stability. Her training as an organizational psychologist, entrepreneur, educator and counselor contribute to her ability to lend fresh perspective and insight to leadership and management development, coaching and strategic decision making.

Dr. Hollander has founded and led New Options, Inc. and WiseWorkplaces, management consulting and executive coaching firms serving individual and corporate clients in the US, Canada and Europe. Organizational clients include The United States Department of State, The Federal Reserve Bank, First Union, McKinsey & Co., Inc., Bank of Montreal, American Management Systems, Sapient, BTG, Hyperion, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, R.R.Donneley, Monsanto, Quintiles, Glaxo, AT&T, Citicorp, Southwestern Bell, Touchstone Consulting and Commerce-One, as well as entrepreneurial and start-up organizations.


Dr. Hollander consults primarily to the technology, finance, professional service, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, but also serves the federal government, nonprofit, healthcare and educational organization clients.


Dr. Hollander, a licensed psychologist, holds a BA degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, an MA, with distinction, in Counseling Psychology from DePaul University in Chicago and a PhD from Loyola University of Chicago.

A published author of books on career and relationship issues and a contributor to several career and transition anthologies, Dr. Hollander is currently writing a new book on careers and exit strategies. A frequent speaker on a variety of workplace issues, she routinely is quoted in magazines, newspapers and business publications, including the Wall Street Journal and the St. Louis Post Dispatch. She has most recently led workshops for the Harvard Business School Club of Washington DC, Princeton University, the Virginia Chapter of Women In Technology and The OD Network.

Dr. Hollander also has appeared on local and national radio and television programs, including the Today Show, and has served as President of a number of national and local professional associations, including the Society of Psychologists in Management and the Missouri and St. Louis Psychological Associations. She has been a member of the Board of the American Psychological Association’s Division of Consulting Psychology. She is the mother of two grown children.
